The Department of Student Registration serves as the entry point to the Syracuse City School District. The Department is responsible for facilitating the registration process for more than 3,700 new and returning students annually.

Established in 2012, through a variety of administrative, clerical and interpersonal responsibilities the Department is tasked, with developing and maintaining an innovative, highly-productive, family-friendly environment for all families.

The Department of Student Registration works collaboratively with the Department of ESL and Bilingual Education to facilitate the language assessment and placement process for English language learners who are new to the District. The Department is committed to working closely with administrators, support staff, community-based and government agencies to serve, support and guide all families through a streamlined registration, transfer and enrollment process, and ensuring placement for more than 20,000 students each year.
